Superintendent’s Report: During the meeting, the Board proudly recognized our Teachers of the Year and Educational Service Professionals of the Year for their outstanding dedication and contributions to our school community. The Board also celebrated the retirement of the following staff members and commitment to our students, families and schools: Wilfred Roman (Facilities), Lizbeth Medine (Irving), Elaine Donnelly (Educational Service), Jodi McLean (Bartle), Carol Dobrowolski (Bartle), Joyce Puccio (High School), and Jani Masur (High School). 

In the Superintendent’s report, Dr. Susca highlighted the district’s ongoing implementation of the Nurtured Heart Approach and shared examples of how staff members are incorporating its principles to strengthen relationships, foster positive school culture, and support both students and colleagues. Curriculum and Instruction: The Board approved several initiatives to support student learning and staff development for the 2026-2027 school year. Highlights included the adoption of new Carnegie Learning ClearMath instructional materials for students in grades K-5, professional development to support implementation, approval of Summer Freshman Orientation, and a variety of professional learning opportunities focused on artificial intelligence, inclusive practices, multilingual learners, and innovative instructional strategies. The Board also approved curriculum revisions and development projects across multiple content areas to ensure programs remain aligned to student needs and state standards.

Finance and Facilities:  The Board approved several actions including year-end financial reports and budget transfers, authorization to transfer available funds into capital, maintenance, and emergency reserve accounts, acceptance of grant funding to enhance recreational facilities, and approval of ongoing building improvement projects at Bartle Elementary School and preschool classrooms. The Board also approved the district’s annual insurance renewals and accepted a donation from Hungry Minds, Inc. to eliminate some of the outstanding student lunch balances.
