Board Liaison Reports:

Human Relations Committee - The Human Relations Commission has been very busy this spring, and there are a number of exciting events and opportunities:

1. There are 3 flag raising events coming up in June. Click here for more information.

2. There may be an opportunity in the works for our artistic students. The commission is considering revisiting the completion of the gratitude tree that was started last spring and summer, and if they can find a location, they are asking if there are any students who would want to volunteer to paint a mural.

3. The commission is committed to promoting cultural awareness through monthly features on their social media page, highlighting the diverse communities within our town. If you have cultural traditions, stories, or events that are often underrepresented, please reach out to the HRC— the commission would love to help share and celebrate them.

4. The commission is seeking more volunteers to join the commission, so if any teachers, staff, or parents want to join please reach out to the commission co-chairs: Pauline Devonish & Dr. Moishe Malek via email HRC@hpboro.com

5. Anyone is welcome to join the next meeting (which is May 21st at 7:30pm) via the google link on HPboro.com and if you have any ideas you’d like to present to the commission or want to volunteer, but cannot officially join the commission, your voice is also encouraged and welcome. Please email HRC@hpboro.com for more information.

The Special Education Parent Advocacy Group (SEPAG) annual fundraiser will be held June 13th at Pino’s starting at 5:30pm.
